Kid’s Martial Arts: Building Confidence and Self-Esteem

Power Martial Arts was thrilled to be invited to join Rosenhauer Elementary School in Jackson, New Jersey for Reading Arts Day. Participants were encouraged to bring necessary items like loose-fitting clothes to prepare for the event. This marks our second year of participation, and we couldn’t be happier.

Brian McCann, the owner of Inner Power Martial Arts, and Scott Hall, an instructor with Master Brian have been doing presentations for the students about kid’s martial arts classes and the impact is truly remarkable.

Focus and Confidence

One of the key points emphasized by Brian and Scott is the importance of focus and building confidence, which also enhance mental acuity and self-awareness, benefiting the mind. These leaders from Inner Power Martial Arts were highly impressed with the behavior of the students who took part in the event and activities that day.

Having worked with other schools, Brian and Scott both remarked that the students at Rosenhauer are exceptionally well-behaved, and were a true pleasure to work with.

Engaged Students

When kids participate in martial arts after school training programs, students are not only well-behaved but also highly engaged. They actively participate and ask wonderful questions, demonstrating their attentiveness and genuine interest. It’s heartwarming to witness their eagerness to learn and absorb the valuable lessons shared by Brian and Scott.

Understanding and Perception

Brian and Scott also emphasize the importance of respect and understanding. They encourage open dialogue and welcome questions from their students. They appreciate hearing the students’ perception of martial arts so that they can provide accurate information. Contrary to popular belief, they clarify that martial artists are not ninjas. Instead, they practice hard and learn self-defense to feel comfortable in their own skin.

One of the primary objectives of Inner Power Martial Arts is to build confidence and self-esteem in their students. This lifelong skill goes beyond the immediate benefits in third grade. Becoming a martial artist equips them with self-defense skills, boosts their self-confidence, and empowers them to make good decisions, avoid negative influences, and navigate challenges as they progress through high school, college, and adulthood.

Age-Appropriate Programs

Inner Power Martial Arts offers age-appropriate programs to cater to different developmental stages. We have a program specifically designed for 4 and 5-year-olds, another for 6 to 9-year-olds, and a separate program for kids ages 10 and above. This ensures that the training is tailored to meet the unique needs and abilities of each age group.

Adult Program

Inner Power Martial Arts caters to children while also providing an adult program. Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or even 75 years old, you can join our classes. It’s never too late to start learning and benefit from the physical and mental aspects of martial arts. The program offers a great way to relieve stress and improve mental well-being at any age.

Discipline and Self Defense Life Skills

One aspect that stands out in Inner Power Martial Arts’ program is the emphasis on discipline. Students learn to follow directions and respond with respect. This discipline instilled early in life becomes a valuable life skill that carries over to various aspects of their lives, including school and beyond. By learning to follow instructions and show respect, students develop strong character traits that will benefit them throughout their lives.

A Positive Influence

Rosenhauer Elementary was incredibly grateful to Brian and Scott for being such positive influences in students’ lives. They agreed that Inner Power Martial Arts’ dedication to building confidence, self-esteem, and discipline, along with teaching students to defend themselves, truly makes a difference.

Brian and Scott are happy to contribute to creating a nurturing and empowering environment at Rosenhauer Elementary School, and look forward to our continued involvement in the future.
